RACHEL DEUTSCH joined Strumwasser & Woocher in 2010 after clerking
with the Honorable Marsha S. Berzon of the United States Court of Appeals
for the Ninth Circuit. Ms. Deutsch practices in state and federal courts
as well as administrative proceedings, on matters involving labor and
employment, elections, state and local governments, and insurance regulation.
Ms. Deutsch received her J.D. from Columbia University. While in law school,
Ms. Deutsch worked at Grant & Eisenhofer, a firm that litigates on
behalf of investors and consumers, and authored
The Federal Role in Reducing Hospital-Acquired Conditions, 42 Colum. J. L. & Soc. Probs. 1 (2008). Before entering the legal
profession, Ms. Deutsch organized hospital workers with the Service Employees
International Union. She graduated
magna cum laude from Yale University with a B.A. in history and served as the political
action director of the Yale Women's Center.
